We introduced the concept of “Building the Dream” back in September 2015 — which in startup years, like dog years, is the equivalent of approximately a century passing.
So much has happened since then. As we’ve grown from 20 employees to 100-plus in that span, we needed to document our vision, mission, values, and culture more explicitly.
These core tenets represent the what, why, who, and how of dream-building.
There was ample external inspiration for our approach: from well-known examples like Netflix and HubSpot to lesser-known-but-still-terrific examples at Big Spaceship and Ideo.
With these examples top of mind, our leadership team created a distinct set of values we wanted our team to have. Thus, we humbly submit our very own brand culture deck:
