Name: Connor Bouthot

Where did you grow up?: West Hartford and Avon, Connecticut

What are two truths and a lie about yourself?

  1. I was #2 in the world in the NHL11 video game in 2010
  2. I competed in and won multiple regional and national a cappella competitions from 2009-15
  3. I created three plastic prototypes of a dental product invention in 2015

(The lie: #2. I sang a cappella and competed from 2009-11, but we never won!)

What have you learned in your time at BlueConic?

A: I’ve learned a ton. It’s important to grow with the company and know what is going on in all areas of the business to stay involved. But, at the same time, it is just as important to stay focused on your job and your team’s goals.

I think balancing that is something that I have learned to do — as staying involved and up-to-date in those various parts of the company is something that really drives my passion for BlueConic.

What has challenged you the most at BlueConic?

A: One of the biggest challenges is resisting the urge to sing along to every 90s summer jam that comes on the jukebox. I feel bad for the BlueCrew, but if you asked them how I’m handling this challenge, I’m not sure they’d say I was effectively controlling the urge to sing.

What, if anything, would you change about BlueConic?

A: There isn’t much I would change about my time at BlueConic. I might go back in time and tell myself to always trust in my abilities at every step of the way like my supervisors have. We are very lucky to have that kind of support.

What’s your advice to the newest #BlueCrew members?

A: Come in every day and ask yourself, “What can I do to help BlueConic today?” This attitude will help you succeed and become an integral part of our team. In doing this, you will find that BlueConic has much to give back to you as well.

What made you believe BlueConic was right for you?

A: I remember smiling and laughing so much that my face hurt after I left my interview. The energy and passion that Kevin, Cory, and Bart all brought was infectious and I knew immediately that this was the right company. It’s that same passion that keeps me here.

What’s your big focus at the moment? In the future?

A: I want to get to the point where I am exceeding, even doubling, the set expectations and quotas we are given in the long term. Short term, I try to get better on the phone every day, whether it is a first call or a closing call.

What would others be surprised to learn about you?

A: At one point not too long ago, the sales team was just three of us — not including the Director of Business Development!

Which #BlueCrew member would you switch places with?

A: Bart. He probably has the hardest job here but does it with a smile.

What’s your favorite sushi order?

A: The 3 Maki Combo: Spicy Tuna, Spicy Salmon, and California.

A: The Bruins, of course!

What’s your favorite quote or motto?

A: “Wherever you go, go with all your heart.” — Confucius

What’s your favorite office furniture?

A: My motorized desk is sweet.

What is something on your bucket list?

A: I’d love to be a part of an IPO.

What’s your at-work Spotify playlist?

A: I prefer Pandora’s “Summer Hits of the 90’s” playlist.

A: Bootz

What did you want to be while growing up?

A: Professional hockey player or entrepreneur.
