What have you learned in your time at BlueConic – about startups, about your role, about your team, about yourself?
A: “From the outside looking in you can’t understand it, and from the inside looking out you can’t explain.”
I can’t put into words what I’ve learned at BlueConic. The combination of a company with a bright vision, an aligned management team, and having the opportunity to work with some of the most driven individuals has put me in a position to learn more than I can describe.
I have also learned that I can sing the lyrics to every 90’s summer jam hit thanks to our Bluetooth karaoke machine.
What has challenged you the most? How did you deal (or are you dealing) with that challenge?
A: I witnessed the sales team double (soon to triple) in size since I’ve been at BlueConic. What challenges me is not letting anyone on my team out work or perform me. I always try to work my hardest and apply advice when it’s given.
If you could change one thing about your time here so far, what would it be?
A: Making sure I set more time aside to get to know everyone. We all have lives outside of work and I wish made a better effort to grab lunch and get to know every person that’s part of the BlueConic dream.
What’s your advice to the newest members of the Crew (if you’ve been here) OR what was your acclimation to BlueConic like (for the newer folks)?
A: You’re going to wear a lot of hats. Take a moment each day and hone in on all of the skills you’re learning and challenge yourself to take on more.
Why are you at BlueConic – what was it about your interview that you remember and made you want to be here? What keeps you here?
A: I believe that a person is a product of their environment. I’m at BlueConic because of the passion and drive that Kevin, Cory, and Bart brought during my interview. I WANTED to work and learn from them because I knew how hard they’d push me.
Besides my management team challenging me, the product is extremely disruptive and rock solid. Customers absolutely love it and I can confidently say I sell a product that impacts our customers lives in a positive way.
In the near and middle term, what are you focused on? What would you like to do that you aren’t or haven’t been able to do?
A: My main focus is helping our newer staff ramp up as fast as possible. We’re all part of the same dream and it’s important that we all help each other. In the future, I’d like to be in a closing role, and help BlueConic grow further.
What would others be surprised to learn about BC/your job?
A: About BlueConic – It’s an unwritten rule that the sales floor shuts down when a Backstreet Boy’s song come on the juke box and we all start singing.
A: Philly roll, crazy, and spicy salmon
Favorite sports team:
A: “You know nothing Jon Snow” – Game of Thrones
What is something on your bucket list?
A: Jump in a taxi and scream, “Follow that car!!!” while pointing at a random moving car.
What did you want to grow up to be when you were younger?
A: An astronaut.
