Name: Kieran Hillery

Where did you grow up? Smithfield, RI

Two truths & a lie:
1. My neighbors called DCYF because I got too many stitches as a child.
2. I ran a marathon with no training.
3. I’ve lived with a professional athlete.

What have you learned in your time at BlueConic – about startups, about your role, about your team, about yourself?
A: I’ve learned that circumstances change daily and sometimes you have to just roll with it. And that’s what I like.

What has challenged you the most? How did you deal (or are you dealing) with that challenge?
A: Making a hundred plus phone calls a day is never ideal. It’s necessary and the team atmosphere makes it better, but there’s no doubt that it can be tough at times to find the motivation to pick up the phone and make that 100th dial.

If you could change one thing about your time here so far, what would it be?
A: Sprinkles on toast. I would not have waited 3 and a half months to try that miracle concoction.

What’s your advice to the newest members of the Crew (if you’ve been here) OR what was your acclimation to BlueConic like (for the newer folks)?
A: Every single person at this company has something to teach you. Ask as many questions as you can think of, and then ask another.

Why are you at BlueConic – what was it about your interview that you remember and made you want to be here? What keeps you here?
A: It was the idea of having a dream and every member playing a contributing role towards achieving that dream that got me here. What keeps me here is that I want to build this dream, so that I can keep chasing my own.

In the near and middle term, what are you focused on? What would you like to do that you aren’t or haven’t been able to do?
A: In the near term, I want to master our demo environment and the sales techniques necessary to become an AE. I’ve got quite a way to go.

What is your favorite BlueConic product feature?
A: : Most people say the sunburst because that’s where the data becomes actionable, but I like the data collection itself. I come from a data driven background (classes, research projects, first job) and getting that level of depth is what I yearned for.
